The passport applications are accepted in the Embassy between 09.30 AM to 12.30 PM. The time for collection of serviced passport is between 2.30 PM to 4.30 PM. Passports are issued within 4 week’s time.

Reissue of Passports on Expiry

Application for Indian Passport should be submitted online at embassy.passportindia.gov.in. After filing the online application and uploading photo/signature, print and complete the form by hand. Submit with self-attested copies of passport, work permit, and fees.

Photos must follow specifications. Deviations may result in delays.

Signatures/Thumb impressions in black ink within boxes (female: right thumb; male: left thumb).

Applications can be made within 6 months before or up to 1 year after expiry.

Birth certificates (post-26 Jan 1989) must be from a Municipal Authority or District Registrar.

Name Change following Marriage:

Attested Marriage Certificate
Husband’s passport copy
Sworn affidavit (see specimen)

Substantial Name Change:

Sworn Affidavit
Original newspaper clippings (2 countries)

Change in Address:

Submit address proof (utility bill, voter ID, ration card, bank statement). Ration card alone requires one additional proof. Minors can use parents’ passport copies.

Registration of Birth and Issue of Passports to Minors

Birth registration online: https://indiancitizenshiponline.nic.in/. Register within 1 year; post-1 year requires Ministry approval.

Submit online form, hospital birth certificate, parents’ passport copies, marriage certificate
Thumb impression of child countersigned by parents
Affidavit if one parent is absent
Notarized explanation if names differ on documents
4 photos as per specifications

Duplicate Passport in lieu of Lost/Damaged Passports

Lost Passport Requirements:

Filled form with photographs
Original Police report (translated and notarized)
4 copies of Personal Particular Form with photos
Affidavit explaining loss circumstances
Copy of previous passport
Employer’s conduct certificate
ID/driver license/work permit copies (translated if needed)
Submit documents in duplicate

Damaged Passport Requirements:

Application form with photos
Damaged passport copy
Affidavit explaining damage reason

Duplicate passports to habitual losers issued only after inquiry.

Emergency Travel Document

Emergency Certificate: For single travel to India, fill application at https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in/ and attend interview.
